General Terms of Use

Effective date: February 17, 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of Frieze software, websites, trial builds, and related services. By using Frieze, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope and Acceptance

These Terms apply to all users of Frieze, including trial, paid, and enterprise users. If you use Frieze on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must use Frieze in compliance with applicable law and provide accurate account and billing information. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and for activities performed through your account.

3. License and Permitted Use

Subject to payment and compliance with these Terms, Frieze grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software for subtitle production and related workflows. You may not reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, or use Frieze to violate law or third-party rights.

4. Trial and Demo Terms

Trial or demo features may include technical or export limitations. In Frieze demo mode, SRT export may be disabled and watermarking may be applied to final output. Trial functionality may change or end without notice.

5. Billing and Renewals

Paid license billing is processed through Freemius checkout. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected there where required. Renewal and refund terms are governed by the checkout terms shown at purchase.

6. User Data and Content

You retain ownership of subtitle files, project data, and other content you create or upload. You grant Frieze only the rights necessary to operate, secure, and support the services you use. You are responsible for obtaining all rights required for your content and workflows.

7. Privacy

Personal data handling is described in our Privacy Notice and related support documentation. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Notice regarding personal data, the Privacy Notice controls.

8. Service Changes

Frieze may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. You are responsible for maintaining current backups of your project files and production assets.

9. Intellectual Property

Frieze, including software, branding, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for expressly granted rights, all rights are reserved by Frieze and its licensors.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Frieze is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that all outputs will be error-free for every production environment.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Frieze will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, revenue, or production opportunity.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, legal requirements, or security risks. Upon termination, your license rights end, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

13. Governing Law and Mandatory Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by the law specified in your commercial agreement or order terms. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction.

14. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions become effective when published, unless a later date is stated. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
